Dear CSSA at UC Editor:
In your last news distribution (CSSA NEWS Oct. 16), the
"New Official Politically Correct Terms for
1996" is not funny at all. It is most apparent this kind of garbage is
fabricated by some white male Americans who are terribly insecure of
their dominant positions in this society (does Bob Costas come to mind?),
and who feel threatened by blacks, Asians, women and other minorities. It
is a sad perversion and unusual foolishness on the side of CSSA, as an
organization for Chinese, to disseminate this kind of trashy stuff which is
most attuned to the mind-set of white frat boys with a tinge of racism
and sexism, especially after what happened this summer during the Atlanta
Olympics, and after General Colin Powell recently referred to the 1.2
billion people of China as "Chinaman".
If any of you think this is funny, let's add more terms to this
list, to make it complete, which I'm sure would delight and entertain even
more the section of the population that truly enjoy this kind of stuff:
OLD NEW
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Chink Chinese
Chinaman people who come from China
Niggers Blacks, Afro-Americans
Spics Hispanics
Geek Chinese, Asians (people who
don't look white)
team winning Champions on drugs Chinese women swimming team
human rights abusers China
copy rights stealers Chinese
intellectual property thief Chinese
threat to peace of Taiwan Straight China
a nation of 1.2 billion baby-killers China
rude, politically correct, People who protested NBC and Bob
narrow-mind, overly sensitive bunch Costas
....
have we had fun yet?
Hope we all learn the lesson that what's fun and hilarious
("with no intention of hurting anyone's feeling", as Mr. Costas nicely put
it) to a white frat boy, can be indeed repulsive and insulting to
everyone else.

Hell, one American could pirate more stuff than 10,000 Chinese people according to that math! (I tell you this with a certain degree of confidence ;) P.S. Cool it, there's a lot worse out there than jokes... Like censors who want to destroy Internet, for example.

[garbage snipped] Actually, reading your response to the original post makes me think that you're the one who's insecure. Your post is one of the more bigoted and racist posts I've seen in a while. What you have to remember is that racism works both ways. By posting the sort of garbage that you posted, you're only adding fuel to the fire. Think about it. Chris
