Hyde Park Sublets...

I'm looking for a 1-2 bedroom sublet (possibly more)in the Hyde Park area
for the summer. Particularly, I'd need a place from June 10th-September
23rd. Those dates are a little on the longer side but I'd rather be safe
than sorry. I'd like to find a place with Air Conditioning and which is
not managed by K&G, but I will look at most anything if the price is right
and the place isn't in too bad of condition. Anyways, that's what I'm
looking for. If you have someplace available during that time, please
get in touch with me. The best way is through e-mail,
secabeen@midway.uchicago.edu, but you can call me (though I'm often not
home) at 773-834-6241. Thanks.

i seem to recall that there were plenty of flyers posted around the
university of chicago offering sublets. however, for those who have
no idea where to find a sublet for the summer in hyde park a good
place to start would be the regents park apartments. a number of
u of c students (my impression is that they are mostly graduate
students) stay there which creates numerous sublet opening during the
summer. the number is 773.288.5050.

they boast of having won numerous chicago area awards that are bestowed
upon apartment communities. having lived there i would say that it is
a very well run apartment. the apartments are a bit bauhaus, but they
are very nice (besides, high rise apartments tend to be bauhaus in
general).

They are on the pricey side though. But... they do have DSL ready to
go in the building.

which explains why mostly graduate students live there. but my
impression was that they were not ridiculously pricey for hyde
park, which is a somewhat pricey area in general, at least not
for non-undergraduate apartments.

and didn't hear anything about that.

Exactly. I'm pretty sure two bedrooms go for about $1000 a month there
which isn't bad, but considering I pay $650 a month for my two bedroom
and I'm paying about the average hyde park rate it's expensive. The only
people I know who live there are U of C professors and grad students.
Although I'd pay an extra $200 a month not to be involved with K&G.. :)

Just a little bit ago. I think WWA is the one offering the service there.
I don't know any more than that, but I'm sure you can get their number off
their web page.
