1986 Silver/Grey Volvo 240DL for sale $700 OBO
227k miles on it (and still ticking!)

The car is in good but not great shape given the milage.  It runs
well, we've taken it on lots of road trips to TN and back and it has
never let us down.  The body is in decent shape with no dents but
there is one rust spot about the size of a silver dollar.  The cloth
interior is in fine condition.  We've driven it without a single
failure through two Chicago winters. We're the second owner of the
car.

The only substantive thing we know to be wrong with the car is that it
has a loose tie-rod on the right front wheel.  We noticed the car was
shaking at around 70mph so we took it to a mechanic who diagnosed this
problem.  He tightened some stuff down and topped off some fluids
(sorry about my lack of mechanical expertise here) and we've had no
problems since (4-5 months) and the car doesn't shake at high speeds
any more.  Minor problems: the tape deck doesn't work, the left front
blinker and headlight are out.
