a man faces 10 years in jail for e-mail harassment of Asians
(see clari article below).

i also heard this story on NPR last night.

he targeted his harassing e-mail messages to 63(?)
Asian-American students at U.C. Irvine.

i think he also faces $5 (?) million in fines.

what's the race of the defendant (Richard Machado)?

i (Tanaka) was a target of a similar harassment earlier this
year, and the harasser already partially confessed his crime
(see description below).

i will look into the possibility of having a federal hate crime
charge brought against the harasser.
