File access problems with WP

Ever since I installed WP Win 6.1, I get file access errors
even when WP Win isn't running.

I frequeltly edit using WP 6.0b DOS in a DOS box under Windows 3.1
then do something else with the file in another DOS box.  This has
never been a problem until now.

This feels like some kind of "share" error, but I checked and SHARE
isn't in my AUTOEXEC/CONFIG.  I presume this is some equivalent
command in a Windows INI file, but it is messing up the one thing
that normally works well: WP 6.0 DOS.

Any help appreciated.
