I have the following SCSI drives for sale:
o one (1) CONTROL DATA WREN IV 94171-307. $580 + s/h (fedex COD).
----
This is a 309 megabyte (formatted capacity, 350 unformatted)
disk drive that is resold by Maxtor Corporation. It was
purchased from Hard Drives International in October 1990.
I will warranty it for 90 days. Its completely dust-free (kept
in a PC tower case w/ two fans and cleaned monthly) and
flawless. I have the manual and can give you more information
if you need. Its SCSI-1, I get around 600k transfer rates
on a PC with a WD7000. This is a INTERNAL drive, no enclosure,
power supply, etc. Plug inside your PC, Mac, NeXT, etc., and
run.
If you have a PC, I will throw in FREE a WD7000ASY, with the
manuals, drivers, etc. Works under DOS, OS/2, Unix (BSD,Linux),
and Windows/NT. I have a UltraStor 14F which is much faster
than the WD7000 (about 2x faster) so I'd recommend saving those
pennies for a faster controller. (the WD is my backup controller)
If can send the drive either formatted and blank, or filled with
X-rated pictures and the newest PC games (and I mean filled!).
o one (1) POWERDRIVE from Hard Drives International. $250 + s/h.
----
This is a 105 megabyte (formatted) drive that was purchased
from Hard Drive International in August 1989. It is a 3.5"
Toshiba disk drive inside. This is an EXTERNAL drive. It
comes in a nice looking, "Mac color" case, you just take
a SCSI cable from it to your computer and you're set. It
was originally purchased for a Mac IIci and used for two
years on my IIci. I sent my IIci back to my parents during the
summer so its just sitting around. I have tested it on a PC and
an Amiga 500 as well (its running on the latter right now).
Its really made for a Mac though, fits well between the
computer and monitor.
The drive is EXTERNAL, and I will not take it out of its case
to sell seperately . It comes with a SCSI cable for a Macintosh,
manuals, and software (although the s/w is not necessary with
System 6.0 and higher -- I used the built in formatter). 90
day warranty.
The reason I'm selling these is because I'm purchasing a 1.x gigabyte
drive in January, and would like to make room for it on my machines.
I'm not hard up for money so please don't bother offering me 50% of
what I'm asking. I am open to reasonable offers. I take good care
of my equipment so the drives should last you years to come. If
there are any incompatibility problems just send it right back to
me and I'll refund your money. I warranty the drives for 3 months
from any sort of failure.
BTW, if you're in the market for 1.x gig drives, I've been doing some
research and would be interested in sharing my experiences (leaning
towards a Micropolis 2112 or a Maxtor Magic) with you. About 80k of
Usenet & CI$ text saved so far.
