The Department of Computer Services at the University of Georgia 
Center for Continuing Education is accepting applications for a 
Network Services Specialist IV. This position is one of three 
full-time personnel on the Networking Services team in the 
Department. Primary duties include:

= administration and management of 3 production NetWare 3.12 
  servers including software upgrades, patches, account and 
  login script maintenance (shared with other staff), print
  services and server tuning

= departmental & end-user support and training in the use 
  of LAN resources 

= application support for the Center's electronic mail system
  (Pegasus Mail for DOS/Mac/Windows and Mercury)

= as-needed assistance with the administration and support of 
  a Linux-based web server used in the delivery and processing 
  of online course materials to students in the University 
  System of Georgia's Independent Study program 

= as-needed assistance with the administration and support of 
  WindowsNT (3.51 and 4.0) servers and workstations and related 
  network resources

= participation in team projects including -

    - migration from NetWare 3.x to 4.x
    - development of a web-based conferencing system
    - implementation of bootp/DHCP services


The successful candidate will have a minimum of 2 years experience 
managing a NetWare LAN, strong familiarity with NetWare and 
DOS/Windows/Unix interoperability, familiarity with Ethernet networking 
issues including bandwidth and infrastructure management, excellent 
written and oral communication skills, and the ability to work 
independently on tasks.
