Much to everyone's surprise, eczajac@argo.acs.oakland.edu wrote: > In article <94147.140516U57370@uicvm.uic.edu>, <U57370@uicvm.uic.edu> writes: > >We have two available apartments for renting. > > > >One locates at 5935 N. Well, since "downtown" is generally considered the place where the 0 streets cross (State and Madison form the basis of the Chicago street numbering systems; ie: 1N, 1S, 1E, and 1W) and the address is 5935 north and 2600 west, I would say you would be roughly 60 blocks north and 26 blocks west of "downtown". BTW, Michigan ends at about 1000 north, so, depending on where on Michigan you want to go, you may only need to travel 50 blocks south. Michigan is 100 E, so add another easterly city block of travel if you are specifically going to Michigan Ave. Oh, and Lincoln Ave goes within 4 blocks of that address, so some of the distance would be decreased since you would be traveling at somewhat of an angle.
