Why aren't we the size of King Kong? Or an Ant?

Why do some monkeys have long tails and why is your belly button in
the middle of your body? (You'd look pretty funny with a belly-button
on your forehead!) These and many other questions can be answered by
applying physics principles to biology. Come hear Physics Professor
Paul Selvin, who works at the interface of physics and biology, describe
how life is like game of chance -- physics sets the rules,

but who wins is nearly random.

November 7, 1998 Professor Paul R. Selvin, UIUC
