The University of Illinois College Libertarians will hold its monthly meeting next Monday, October 18, 6:00 PM in Room 1018 of the Foreign Languages Building (south-east corner of the Main Quad). This will also be an organizing meeting for the new nonpartisan group, Illini for Individual Liberty. We hope to hold IIL's first meeting in about two weeks. The purpose of the meeting will be to plan activities for the remainder of the school year, possibly to include hosting a speaker on ballot access issues. If enough people are present, we may ratify bylaws. We will also have a representative present from the Champaign County Libertarian Party. Everyone is invited, students, staff, faculty, and members of "tha community." If you are interested in personal freedom and free-market economics, you should definitely attend. If you are not sure where you stand, please come: we would love to give you our spiel. Even if you are a dyed-in-the-wool socialist, you're still invited on the condition that you agree not to initiate any force against us while actually at the meeting. WHAT: U of I College Libertarians WHEN: Monday, October 18, 1999 at 6:00 PM WHERE: Foreign Language Building, Room 1018 WHY: "So a wise leader might say: I practice inaction, and the people look after themselves. I love to be quiet, and the people themselves find justice. I don't do business, and the people prosper on their own. I don't have wants, and the people themselves are uncut wood." - Laozi, the Tao te Ching
