Hi all, I would like to thank everyone that replied. The solution is indeed simple, and I was an idiot. By default, OpenWindow only enables xhost for localhost. A quick check of the startup script for our old X11R4/XView shows 'xhost +'. As many of you have suggested this indeed solved the problem. The xhost command may also be placed in the user's .openwin-init. Alternatively a host access table may be created in /etc/X*.hosts where * is the display number. Thanks to everyone that responded. Jack Su
