As long as they get properly replaced by the updated ones, but again, that's something that doesn't usually cause problems these days. It was more back in the days of Windows 98 when if anything could go wrong when installing drivers it invariably would. I even preferred ME to 98 because of that. > >IME network > >driver installations for Windows tend to go fairly smoothly these > >days, so I won't claim using Linux is easier and more reliable, but > >it does have one advantage: you can download everything you need at > >once, instead of having to wait for the network drivers before you > >can go and get everything else. > > That really depends on your hardware and software combination. > > I honestly can't remember the last time I had problems getting online > on a desktop system with anything other then a Windows CD/DVD. You're probably buying posher Intel motherboards than I've been using lately then. My experience is almost the opposite. This one, despite having an Intel northbridge and southbridge, has an Attansic network chip. I've never found a driver for any nForce motherboard on a Windows CD either. -- TH * http://www.realh.co.uk
