A non- PC friendly acquaintance of mine had a virus warning from his
scanning software, and followed its helpful advice to "delete
mueexe.exe"; now he can't run any *.exe file in Win 98.

It's gone from his recycle bin; can he restore it any other way, without
reinstalling Windows?

I can't seem to find such a file on my machine at all- where is it
hidden?
