What would be the best way of copying all the 1676 files off my present 386sx computer's hard drive (80 MB, 3 partitions C:, D: & E:) to corresponding partitions on the (much bigger) hard drive of a new computer? I have Windows 3.1 Terminal (yuk) and Odyssey 1.5 running under DOS 5.0 as my main comms software. I also have a null-modem serial cable. Odyssey includes Kermit and ZModem protocols, which will accept wildcards, but AFAIK will not upload through nested subdirectories, in the way XCOPY /s will when copying from disk to disk. So transferring with Odyssey would be tedious, though possible. Can one pipe XCOPY through the serial ports in some way? Or is there a public domain or shareware program that will copy all the files in the drive across, including those in nested subdirectories? I don't feel inclined to spend much of my money on some commercial software (maybe one of the Nortons packages could do it?) for a job I may never have to do again. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Martin H Evans e-mail: mhe1000@cam.ac.uk --Mon 97-03-31 =====================================================================
