The only Sun (desktop) workstations which have/had parallel ports are the following:- 3/80 386i SPARCstation 4 SPARCstation 5 SPARCstation 10 and SPARCstation 20 The SPARCstation 1/1+ and 2 have two 25 pin serial ports and a 50-way micro-D SCSI port, plus audio and keyboard micro-DIN sockets. The SPARCstation SLC and ELCs have the keyboard and audio ports and a combined serial port a and B in one 25 way D socket. The SPARCstation IPC and IPX's have two micro-DIN sockets (RS423) serial ports. The 3/80 and 386i have standard PC-style parallel ports, the other machines with parallel ports use a minature AMD socket for which you need to buy a special adaptor cable. It's probable that the originator of this thread is mistaking the 50-way micro-D SCSI port for a parallel port (somehow). I hope this has helped clear up the confusion.
