I worked for a PC maintainer for twelve years. We were going through
cans of compressed air costing anything between three and seven quid a
go at a rate of knots. In the end we bought a small compressor with an
assortment of nozzles, including a trigger-controlled air blaster, which
did the job just fine. The compressor was noisy, but it tended to run
up first thing in the morning and then last pretty much all day with
only short bursts to recharge.

We did at one point investigate putting it outside in an enclosure and
running the air pipe in through the wall, but nothing came of it.
Instead, we put a long hose on it so we could take the victim outside
and run the hose through the window to blast out the dust outdoors.

It was invaluable for cleaning out PCs and printers (particularly dot
matrix printers, which accumulate an amazing amount of paper chaff.)
One thing I did find was that it tended to make the fans in very dirty
PSUs fail prematurely, presumably as a result of forcing dust into the
bearing.

agreed.
