*grin* at least you've made me feel less stupid!  The 'accident' with
.forward was at work.  I was, like you, wondering what was making the
Digital Alpha box sitting next to me so busy and about to investigate
when the screen suddenly collapsed from the GUI to a text command prompt
and the users started wandering in to complain about not being able to
access their email.  Whoops.  /var/spool/mail 110% full and thousands of
messages in my Pine inbox...
