Get a cheapo for CDs, tapes, etc.  You only need something with "ultra"
or "wide" in its name if you're using a SCSI HD.

A SCSI-2 card is about 30 pounds.  And I very much doubt you have a SCSI
card that is older than SCSI-2.

Are you sure you need channel-bonding (which will of course double your
phone charges)?  As for compression, it's already 'discounted' in
the line speeds you see quoted for connectivity.
