Hi all,
I am trying to setup my Hayes ACCURA 56k Internal Modem and need to
setup the serial port in linux with a different irq.
To do this I am trying
setserial /dev/ttyS2 uart 16550A port 0x3e8 irq 11
however, I get the message
Cannot set serial info: Operation not permitted.
Does anyone have any idea why setserial fails?
Thanks in advance

Are you trying this as a "normal" user? setserial needs to run as root to make any changes. Dan -- Dan Glover (dan@dangl.demon.co.uk) Today's Excuse: The vendor put the bug there.
