If your motherboard supports it then use Suspend to Ram (some times 
referred to as S3(STR) in the BIOS). When you enable this and you 
suspend your computer it will actually turn off, then when you press the 
power button your computer will power on and boot up in approx 10secs 
and be as you left it :)
