Infrared Device

I need an infrared device ("Hub"? "Port"?) to connect the USB port of my
Win98SE PC to an infrared- capable mobile; and an infrared capable, Win
XP, laptop.

While I can find some such devices for sale on-line, I can't tell
whether they are any good or not. What sort of things should I be
looking for/ wary of? Where Might I find one at bargain price?

Thanks in anticipation of your help & advice,

Casio sell a plain old **serial** port IR adapter called a gIRbil for use
with their PDA range. It also works very well with mobiles namely 7110's,
6210's, 8210's etc. I have one.

Contact Casio Spare Parts & Accessories (tel 020 8208 9567) and ask for Mike
Ringer. He's a contact I know thru work - they are a customer of ours!

Just been online to http://www.casioextra.com and found a USB version.
Select "All", "USB Connections" and "gIRbil" from the "Product", "Category"
and "Includes text" boxes at the top of the page.
A bit pricey at UKP 39.99 (online price of 37.99). Try calling Mike.

Indeed; I've heard of them going of 24.99, but was hoping to find
something cheaper!
