A friend ad a laptop for Christmas, with Windows XP. She needs a virus
checker, and as asked for advice. I sue Inoculate IT, which is no longer
freely available, and does not run under XP in any case. Any
suggestions? Cost is a factor, sadly; she's a student.

This is the best Anti-virus package I've come across: http://www.free-av.com/ I've found it to be more effective that Norton and McCaffe and it's updated regularly and is totally free for personal use. It comes in XP or Win9x versions. "Andy Mabbett" <andy@pigsonthewing.org.uk> wrote in message news:zidegmZRlPL8EwEo@pigsonthewing.org.uk... > A friend ad a laptop for Christmas, with Windows XP. Thanks, both - how often are updates issued?
