Ho to set up a "Ghost" printer?

I have no printer on this machine, never having need of one.

However, I occasionally need to "print preview" (Access won't even let
me design a report without three being one installed) and Windows kindly
(!) won't let me do that without there being a printer installed. Is
there anyway to set up a "ghost" printer?

Just install any printer you please from the Windows list that
comes up when you choose Add Printer. You don't _have_ to
print a test page, and you don't have to have a device connected
to a port to install a printer. In the Control Panel Printer applet
you can always set the output to a Disk File instead if you wish
then the "printer" will work, too.

If you install the Generic Text-Only printer from the standard
list, then the print files will be plain ASCII and readable, too.

Note that some software may not Print-Preview correctly if
you install the Generic Text-Only printer as the default printer,
since it will assume simple formatting. If this happens add
another Printer from the list and make it the default instead.

Just the job; thank you.

Can't see a way to do this; do you mean I do that globally, or as a one-
of, each time I print something (which I do get a "print to file"
option)?

Doh! Couldn't see for looking. Thanks again.
