I am also finding it very frustrating, after being used to pressing W to
watch a thread in old Netscape. So in MT-Newswatcher I have resorted to
highlighting the threads and followup messages to threads that
particularly interest me (so far typically the ones I have started ;)
and saving them (command-S).

All highlighted messages are saved to a single file (threads can be set
to split to different files in the preferences) with the name of the
subject of the first one (?). To make this work efficiently, I created
a folder where I want everything saved and set it as the save folder in
the preferences. Also, I checked the option "Append if file already
exists", so if someone posts a followup to a thread I've saved, I can
just highlight it and click command-S to add it to the end of the saved
file.

Then if I ever want to revisit my saved news, I can import it into Mail.
It's a kludge - maybe someone has a better way...?

Cheers,
Vaughan
