I'm running a Linux (SuSE 6.3) server with one of those 40Gb Maxtor drives. We have been copying 3Gb of data to it every night for four weeks now. There have been no problems at all, not even any transient ones. The motherboard on that machine uses UDMA33 not 66. If there really is a problem then it's either OS dependent or it only affects UDMA66 configurations. -- Bernard Peek bap@shrdlu.com bap@shrdlu.co.uk bap@shrdlu.org.uk
