Tech Direct and AOpen Motherboards

Over the last few days I've built/upgraded my 3 Pcs with AOpen AX-59Pro
MBs which I bought from Tech Direct. Only I have a problem with one
machine which fails to boot.

I have removed all IDE cables from the MB, swapped the memory and
processor over; reset the bios; removed/replugged in the graphics card
and the PC will not boot from a floppy. I either get the message not
enough memory, or it just hangs, or sometimes I get funny characters.

I've concluded that the MB is faulty, what a bummer - question is do you
agree with my verdict? Any comments on AOpen? Any comments on Tech
Direct - are they good for returns? Thanks guys.

We also placed an order with TD a while back

Criteria: Tape back-up drives, 3 1/2" mounting, c/w tape, NT compatible.

Result: We received ten tape drives, 5 1/4" !!! , no tape (thats extra
sir), no NT driver disks, apart from that perfect.

Maybe they've got their act together now as they're still in business.

I took the AOpen MB back today, but the only MB they had was an Asus P5A
with audio and which cost me an extra 19 as well as the petrol. It
seems they keep little stock as I asked for 5 other items and they had
nothing there!

But, at least they swapped the MB over with no hassle even though it
cost me a bit extra C'est la vie.

So conclussion are they are OK - not great, but not bad either.
