I had a really bad experience with CF; they are very determined in
making you accept a position for which you have successfully applied;
but they are able to lie telling you that the Company is going to
accept your conditions when the Company itself don't even know you
were asking those things.

Beware of them as they are rather like sharks and if you are going to
move from abroad to London and you think your Company is going to
offer you whatever you asked and negotiated, you could have a very bad
surprise once arrived in the City.

Long, long ago I learnt not to even bother having conversations with them.

Like all big agents, some people will have problem with them. I had two
contracts with
them that went OK. As always to do trust ANYTHING an agent says to you that
is
not in writing.

PS I never had problem with them paying.

IMHE, this is all too often a personal experience; one contractor, one
agent, one role to be really a blanket statement about a whole agency.

My experience with CF has been mixed. I worked contract through them
three times in succession. It's unheard of for me to show agency
loyalty, but they turned up the work I was after and I was happy to
take it. This was all through one person (Darren Tolhurst in Bristol)
and he's definitely one of my favourite agents. We all know how
irritating it is when a agent is too clueless to do more than match
buzzwords - well here's a guy who really did make an effort to
understand what I was after and how it could fit into what he was
looking for. So a definite pat on the back there.

In contrast, their permie side has been terrible. A _total_ failure to
look at roles in any depth, and a simple "count the ticky boxes"
approach to filling them. I don't know what's worse - being recruited
through that process, or having them recruit for you by it. It only
ever delivers the best lying CV with the shiniest recent experience,
and it does nothing to find people with any depth, broad experience or
inherent talent,.
