Traffic entering the City Centre from the south was severely disrupted
this morning (around 10:30) as Priory Road (the area of Edgbaston
Cricket Ground, the Midlands Arts Centre, & Cannon Hill Park) was closed
off by police & bomb disposal operatives.

More details when (& even if) they become available.

The coppers are in uni to prevent us getting too drunk I think.....A
bomb scare on campus just before my exam tomorrow would be a
blessing.......

It turned out that 2 vehicles were left abandoned outside the police
training centre. Bomb disposal operatives made a controlled explosion, &
reported that it was a false alarm.

I wonder if the owners will get insurance compensation for having their
cars blown up !
