It's attached to the very end of the wire making tooling. It's a "loose seal" vacuum chamber with slightly exposed "feed throughs" on each end of the vacuum chamber .... You need to use dry, rotaty vane, "roughing" pumps. with either "roots blowers" or "turbo pumps" attached to them to get the chambers down to about 250MT to get a good 300-500 watt plasma running in them. After the chamber, the wire is spooled up into individual packages filled with a nitrogen ambient. This same technology is in wide use for wire used in the semiconductor industry. Oxidized wire will not bond with the metal pads of a "chip". Evem beryllium doped Au wire needs to be handled in a ambient enviroment... Here's the funny thing...... Almost all of the "pumps" that are used in vacuum chambers in the processing of ICs are made by Alcatel. A frog company... Believe me though... The better pumps are made by Siemens..... They're just too expensive.. Sorry if this seems "tangental", I just got back from an adult birthday party....... And SPATEN is really good beer. So is Stella! Cheers to all.. All of my best you you.... Der Coach etc...
