Try uk.rec.bicycles. This discussion is an almost continuous thread.
Most people seem to recommend the CIS, who do household and will
insure the bike, too, for a reasonable fee. I also understand the bike is
then insured when parked elsewhere. Specialist insurance often has
massive restrictions, along the lines of:

Damages will not be paid unless bicycle was parked inside property.

- that make it useless. Most people seem to be able to insure their 1KL
bike for only a tenner or so. Maybe it is time to change your household insurance.
