"Mark Price" <m.price@can-online.org.uk> <fc.00663cc4006706e300663cc4006706e3.672eba@ruralnet.org.uk> : >What I am envisiging, visioning, is the creation of a large Acoustic >Sculptured Water Garden, covering a span of several acres, within >Cornwall, and to turn this environmental, educational, awareness centre of >excellence, into a public amenity for all to enjoy. > >What exactly do I mean by - Acoustic Sculptured Water Garden? Well ... >Ummm, how to put it? > >Imagine an educational centre at the hub of the garden, complete with >sound engineering studio and public access environmental education, >through combining music with natural creation. Imagine water features >being used in conjunction with sculptured art forms, and then imagine or >visualise Beethovens symphonies actually playing from the waterfalls >cascading downwards. Imagine the sound working with and literally through >the water so that these naturally sculptured forms actually are timed in >synchronicity with the moving water. > >Fountains can be combined in much the same manner. I want people to enjoy >this garden as a whole living, breathing and healing space where you can >be in touch with awe and wonder through the senses plus interaction with >individuals who visit. But I would like it to be more than that. The scope >with this theme in garden design is that hopefully the perceived benefit, >picked up from such a space, increases peoples spatial awareness and >relationship with the environment around them. > >I want to share in the creation of this garden with others because it is >not just about one persons vision but a vision shared through, with a >committed, dedicated team. > >If i have given you just an inkling of what I have in mind and you know of >ways of progressing this forwards in whatever way possible, our sharing >would please me highly. > >Written words fail me in describing this with complete clarity, to enjoy >conversations with others would be very highly appreciated. > >Would you like to get in contact? > >All the best!! > >Mark >m.price@can-online.org.uk > Wow sounds pretty cool. The nearest thing I have seen attempted with music and fountains combined is in the Parc du Futuroscope at Poiters , France. Here is a photo of the auditorium http://www.users.zetnet.co.uk/rob/albums/futur/fut099.jpg I assume what you have in mind, given the location, would blend in with the natural surroundings a little better. I didn't see the actual performance because that was off season but don't forget that moving water makes a lot of noise. In order to hear the music, I think it would have to be coming from speakers mounted high above, rather than inside the waterfalls. Why Beethoven? -- Andy R
