That's because you're in America.  In Britain it's called football, so when
you post to a uk group about "soccer" it's extremely obvious that you are a
foreigner. Nothing wrong with that, but then you spend most of the time
pretending to be Cornish and discouraging genuine Cornish people from posting
due to your rude and abrasive manner. .

Football is popular all over the world , except in North America where it may
well be fast growing, but from a base of almost nothing.
