That much is true as I have recently renewed two such domains (but it might
have been a good gesture to upgrade existing customers when the new service
was introduced as there was a significant time gap before renewal dates).
I did nearly lose those names though recently, as the original package
purchased was for web forwarding only and the reminder about renewing the
names was sent to info@thedomain (I didn't have mail forwarding on those
domains) which when I checked later was automatically sent back to 10Quid -
it was not sent to the registered e-mail address from when the domain was
purchased. I was only able to renew by the skin of my teeth when a final
reminder along the lines of "if you don't renew your domain today you'll
lose it" arrived at the correct e-mail address within hours of me returning
from holiday - had I stayed away another day I would have lost my names.
I think it is true that a batch of us early customers possibly didn't get
the best service in that respect.
