In article <8BYQw6AkaWf6EwPE@urban75.demon.co.uk>, "[~\\ mike /~]" <mike@nospam.demon.co.uk> writes >International copyright laws make provision for the protection of >original work, with the recent - and far more punitive - Millennium >Copyright Act forcing ISPs to pull disputed websites within 72 hours >until legal ownership of the work can be established. Living in the UK, I'm not subject to US legislation. As I understand it, in the UK, recent court decisions have determined that ISPs are the publishers of the web sites they host rather than just facilitators or transmitters so that if they host a web site in any way unlawful and are made aware of this they must act to remedy the situation. -- Philip Baker http://www.thalasson.com http://www.textual.net
