Whichever way you route the Metro, the Queensway is something of a
barrier to crossing the city centre area.

My idea for a cross city centre route:

Through Snow Hill Tunnel to Moor Street station, Park Street, Albert
Street, New Street, Stephenson Place, Navigation Street, tunnel under
Suffolk Queensway, Holloway Head, Bath Row to Five Ways Station and
Five Ways.

Manchester's Metrolink had the advantage here of no city centre ring
road, and several crucial pieces of route near Victoria Station
already cleared courtesy of Hermann Goering Town Planning AG.
