today, about the only players I see that have CD+G (one of the -original-
formats of Philips/Sony's Compact Disc) are the ones used for Karaoke.

Great idea, never made it: audio, plus still images synched.

Did you try it on a CD-ROM player?  I really don't think that a normal home
PC would recognize the format, but not sure.
