Hi there,

Imagine I manage to buy a well priced Yak 18T or Il 103
in the ex soviet union and would want to bring it back to Europe?
(Namely Holland) Has anybody been through it and has some estimate
of the procedure, the certifying/registration costs and the
maintenance costs/possibilities? Best wishes,

Alexis

Alexis,

Yes I can imagine that, and with that I can imagine a lot of problems
too. Are you properly licensed to fly such an a/c in Holland? The
certifying and registration is just a burocratic handling (don't know
the costs) but where the heck you'll get a GWK who's licensed to
maintain that a/c. Every 50 hours it must be maintained.
Call up several airfields and ask if there is such an a/c on that field
already, if there's a GWK who can do the maintainance? If there is, hear
the person out, if there isn't.... you have to invent the wheel, prepare
to go a long slow way.
I really wish you good luck.

Jack,

There wouldnt be a single problem flying those aircraft as
they are singel engine and under 2000kg. The maintenance is the question
however.
