Hi Britons and Yanks, If you're new to these newsgroups, you've inevitably heard the word 'viatology' mentioned. So what is it? Viatology is the scientific study of roads. This can include discussion of motorway pavement, high-capacity roundabouts, international traffic-flow and overhead signage, or anything relevant that future historians may find credible. Those who study roads are referred to as 'viatologists'. For more on viatology, including its etymology and practise, please refer to http://wwtl.info/viatology.html . To help legitimise viatology as a science and enter it into scholastic and research environments, simply report factual details of the roads you find most interesting. With your help, viatology can enter mainstream study! Cheers, Carl Rogers "Environment first, transportology second" ******** Worldwide Transportation Library (WWTL): http://wwtl.info ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Complete coverage of international roads and railways. Since 2000, we have offered several photographs, videos and Virtual 360 captures -- to each viatologist & transportologist. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ********
