The Home Unix Machine - Brisbane User Group
		-------------------------------------------

The Home Unix Machine - Brisbane User Group (HUMBUG) exists to get fellow
Unix users in contact with each other, to introduce people to Unix and
Unix-like operating systems, and to help users in operating those
systems. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Meetings tend to be informal. We socialise, discuss Unix and computing,
solve Unix problems for new and experienced users alike, and have
occassional talks.

			Meeting Details
			---------------

Where:	Hawken (Engineering) Lecture Theatre 3, at the University of
	Queensland.

Date:	Saturday, 20th September, 1997.

Time:	3:00pm to 1:00am. (You don't have to stay the whole time! :-)

Cost:	Membership is $15 for a full year, but no one has to join unless
they are going to use club services such as our network access
	during meetings.

Food:	There are a variety of takeaway places within a few minutes drive
of the meeting room, and one within 5 minutes walk.

Drinks:	Tea and Coffee are available at the meetings. The cost is 10c for
a styrophoam cup if you don't bring a mug, and 40c for a cup full
of tea or coffee. A coke machine is just upstairs from the meeting
room if that is your prefered way to consume caffine.

Talk:	I will be doing a short introduction to the X-window game 'crossfire'
at this meeting. It is a multi-user graphical adventure game.
It is often called 'Roguelike' although they are usually single user.
	Warning: Crossfire is addictive :-)

For more information on club meetings and HUMBUG itself, see out web page
at http://www.humbug.org.au or see the HUMBUG FAQ posted periodically to
uq.general, bne.general, and aus.computers.linux.

			A note to german speakers
			-------------------------

Thanks to all the german speakers who have told me that humbug means
nonsense in german, you can stop mailing me now :-) Actually, considering
we are a social club as well as technical support group, nonsense is
sometimes an appropriate title ;-)

                        How to get there
                        ----------------
The Hawken building is building 50 on the information maps distributed
around the campus.

If you do not know where the Hawken Lecture Theatres are, meet me at
the large University information map across the road from the University
bus stop 15 minutes before the scheduled start of the meeting, or email
me and we can arrange to meet at another time/place.

Here are directions to reach the bus stop:

To reach the bus stop after entering St Lucia, drive along Sir Fred
Schonell Drive until you come to a roundabout. Turn right into
Coleridge St. Drive up Coleridge St until it comes to a T-junction. Turn
left in to Carmody Rd at the T-junction. Follow this road until you get to
another roundabout. Turn left at the round about. This will put you in
Chancellors's place. The University information sign will be on your left
approximately 50 metres from the round about as you drive through
Chancellor's place.

I suggest anyone not familiar with The University of Queensland at
St Lucia consult a refedex, before attempting to find the bus stop.

For further details, email me at robert@zen.humbug.org.au, or contact
the mailing list.
Cheers,
	-Robert
