http://groups.yahoo.com/group/OttawaHiTech/ has over 100 members now and it is growing at a rate of about 2-3 every week. It is an unrestricted group with public archives - in other words non-members can view messages in read-only mode, and membership is open to everyone who wants to join. I cannot tell if members are Canadian or not. Most of the members are lurkers. I believe a couple of the people who participated in discussions a while ago were American, but most active participants are Canadians from Ottawa. As far as creating a can.issues.hi-tech group, that would be great, but I don't think it is possible. AFAIK there is no process in place for starting a can.* group, so unless you know somebody who can do it, you are out of luck. However, I am crossposting this message to can.config just in case.
