Supernatural - um, that one with the ghost ;-) Supertechnical - GITM, Kill Switch Alien - Fallen Angel, Max, Firewalker, Flukeman, the one with the bugs in the forest, I may even get around to writing up each of these subgroups. > > Hence why I found all that bloody Scully angst unbearable. I found the timetravel one absolutely hysterical in parts "Our research is secret." Uhuh. You guys have a laboratory funded by ARC large grants. Everything you're doing on this Uni funded project is not secret. And even if it was secret, one of the very interesting almost $tevelinkish things about university life is the fact that multiple university can be working on identical projects, without having collaborated with each other. In terms of the science projects in the XF I've liked, I do have a soft spot for the mindcontrol work done in Blood and Wetwired. Wetwired was fascinating from a marketing point of view, given that I work in mind control and teach advanced social manipulation. Well, marketing and social marketing, but I don't have an illusions as to what I really teach people. The ideas generated in Blood was that chemicals and technology could be combined to influence a population. The delivery mode of the chemicals was more crude than expected, using a crop duster, although that did have the advantage of minimizing the target zone. If successful, the Blood chemical technologies could be adpated for a RedMuseum style delivery. Following that up in Wetwired was the idea of using cable television reception for manipulation of specific sections of the population. What was never really explored was whether one or all of the channels was 'contaminated' by the signal. If all of the channels were 'infected', then cable TV owners would be indiscriminately affected (excluding the Red/Green colourblinded and Mulder). However, if the influencer was able to be channel specific, the power for control is fantastic. Wire the little magic box to influence people who watch CNN. Target certain television shows and channels. The power and control that could be influenced is truely awesome. Terrifying and alluring at the same time. I think those two episodes, in conjunction with Red Museum make for a nastier conspiracy than the Colony project. Face it, you can shoot what you can see, and even MMBH is still vulnerable. You can't stop what you don't know is happening. For me, that's more frightening than any alien colony project - somebody else giving your mind instructions. > >> >[2] I swear the boxcar thing is an analogy to Nazi Germany and the > >> >transporting of Jewish people via trains to the death camps > >> As was confirmed by DD in the "inside the XF" special. > >Score another one for the $teve2.
