Hi,
Some of you may have seen previous advertising for these items. I have
since spoken to a few people and I think that these are realistic prices.
- Macintosh external 2400bps modem (fine for e-mail, news, terminal) with
full fax send and receive (at 9600bps), easy-to-use fax software, etc.
$40 or best offer. Excellent condition, works well.
- Hand-held black and white scanner for IBM PC compatibles. 400dpi, uses
internal 8-bit ISA card for interface. Comes with scanning software and
basic OCR. One person I tried had problems setting this up, but I
successfully set it up and used it on a 386 SX25 myself. Good for
scanning signatures or diagrams for fax. Good condition, in box with
original disks etc. $40 or best offer.
Having been through the process of troubleshooting for others, I must say
that I'd like to just sell these and be done with them. If you'd like one
or both, please e-mail me directly. I'm not interested in "holier than
thou" newsgroup discussions on price - if you want to offer less, then do
so. I bought the modem secondhand for $70 at the start of the year, and
the scanner for $100 (new) ten months ago, though it was old stock.
Hope they meet someone's needs.

Sorry - it's a NetComm modem. I called it a Mac modem because the fax
software is for Macs, and the cable has an RS422 plug as used by Macs.
You are quite correct otherwise.
Matthew.
