I am offering for sale a capable Macintosh with an entire Windows / Intel
PC built in. Having looked at the market I have reduced my price
substantially, making it even more attractive.

The machine is a Macintosh LC/Quadra 630 with:

- a Motorola 33/66 MHz 68040 CPU including floating point
- an Intel 486DX2/66 CPU (inc FPU)
- MacOS 7.6 and Windows 3.1 installed (can be upgraded to Win95)
- a LOT of industry standard software (MS Office, Photoshop 4.0, FreeHand,
QuarkXPress)
- 36Mb RAM
- built-in Ethernet if required
- separate Mac and SVGA display systems routed through the same monitor port
- 15" Apple Multisync monitor with stereo speakers
- dual-speed inbuilt CD-ROM accessible from both machines
- 8-bit sound in/out (Mac); Sound Blaster 16 output (PC)
- 500Mb IDE hard disc (upgradeable)
- keyboard / mouse etc
- PlainTalk preamped microphone
- ports: 2 serial (access from Mac or PC), SCSI (scanners, Zip drives etc),
sound in/out, PC joystick

I looked up the CPU in MacUser (October 96) and it lists the 12/500
configuration (CPU only, no CD-ROM) at $1800 for the dual machine. I
thought I might give you a breakdown of purchase costs etc and how I value
the parts now:

Item / purchase date / cost / current value
CPU (12/500 no CD) / April 95 / $2750 / $1800
Multisync 15 / April 95 / $725 / $500
AppleDesign keyboard / April 95 / $150 / $100
RAM (24Mb extra) / 1996 / $550? / $250
CD-ROM (secondhand) / August 96 / $150 / $120
Microphone / May 95 / $50 / $30

If you upgraded your Mac you could also use the existing monitor, keyboard
etc. with a new machine. The LC 630 can also be fitted with a video
capture / TV tuner card (about $400) and Ethernet networking or an internal
modem.

The total value as listed above would be $2800 for a system that cost me
$4375 (sigh). Bear in mind that there are two computers which can exchange
data and read each other's hard drives - it would be a good way to move
data or keep access to both systems.

I am now offering this machine for $2400 in line with current market values.

Please contact me for further information!

      Cheers,

         Matthew Kirkcaldie.
