once again i'm turning to the newsgroups for help, this time of
a literary nature.

i'm trying to locate a short story that i read years ago called,
i believe, either DESIREE'S BABY OR DESIREE'S CHILD. it is a
story of the old south, and has a wonderful twist. i read it
in a book of short stories, and don't remember the author, or
if the book was an anthology.

now i need a copy of the story.

can anyone help?
