Hi,

In the state of virginia, if you are a white couple, like us,
then the state will not allow you adopt a child with a black
father and mother.  This may seem like a somewhat shallow
policy, since if the child of a bi-racial couple comes out
*looking* black, that is how s/he will be treated by society,
regardless of pedigree.  But that's the way it is here in VA.
