Anyone interested in learning Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu, please e-mail me for information. We have a training group (Yamajika Dojo) here in Charlottesville, under a full shidoshi (teacher with menkyo- master instructor license), and have three yudansha (two of which are shidoshi-ho- instructors) in the group. We are also having monthly workshops in traditional weapons, taijutsu, and are bringing a 10th dan into Charlottesville for a 2 day seminar in October. Bujinkan, "Divine Warrior House" incorporates the nine ryu ha , or traditional schools of : Kukishinden ryu Hikenjutsu Gyokko ryu Koshijutsu Gikan ryu Koppojutsu Takagi Yoshin ryu Jutaijutsu Koto ryu Koppojutsu Togakure ryu Ninjutsu Kumogakure ryu Ninjutsu Gyokushin ryu Ninjutsu Shinden Fudo ryu Dakentaijutsu These are not "modern"martial arts like Karate, Judo, and Aikido, but are the traditional Koryu , or family arts of both Shinobi and Samurai clans, actually used for training family samurai and soldiers, including the famous Toda family arts. This is the lineage of the late Toshitsugu Takematsu through Soke Masaaki Hatsumi, of the Hombu dojo in Noda City, Japan. If you are interested in tournaments, trophies, and the like, this is not the art for you. However, if you want to seriously study the warrior traditions of the samurai and shinobi, and want to ler both classical weapons and empty hand arts, in a constructive, intense and informal environment, please email me for information. This is for men and women, with emphasis on survival and lifeskills, not sport. Yours in Budo, Wild Bill
