I'm looking for software to do ZIP files like PKZIP does for
DOS. I need to "zip" a series of files and transfer them to
DOS to be "unziped".

Appreciate any leads you might have. Thanks, Dean

There is a company by the name ASi who licenses PKZIP source code from
PKware and provide PKZIP for platforms such as Unix and MVS. Their
WEB site is at www.asizip.com and their phone numbers are phone (513)
885-2031, fax (513) 885-2032.

Hope this help.

You're in luck! I believe that PKZIP also has a version that runs on
UNIX. I don't know what flavors, however. You should call PKWare and
find out.

If you want a zip program for UNIX which can simulate PK-ZIP files for
DOS and is free then check out this URL:

http://quest.jpl.nasa.gov/Info-ZIP

This is the Info-Zip home page, and they make a portable "zip" program
across platforms. You can get Info-Zip for DOS insuring compatibility too.
