I will be in Ottawa for a work term sept-dec and want to have access to internet
so that I can still read my mail from my school account.
If anyone knows of anyway I could get an internet account in Ottawa could they
let me know.

	Thanks Andrew

I don't know about everybody else, but every company I've work for so
far has had some sort of corporate e-mail system, which has usually been
hooked up to internet.... so just .forward your mail to work.
For me, at least, if I don't have internet access, I just forward my
mail to my dad (who has internet access).
Before you spend a bunch of time and money trying to get access to
BBS's with uucp or whatever, inquire with your employer....

There's a internet site in Ottawa which you can get an account on
and get mail and news for a 4 month fee of $20 for 90 minutes a day. It's
called Micor and I don't have the number handy... If you want the number,
leave me mail.

A couple of years back, Michel (micor's sysadmin) gave me a free UUCP
connection. If you have appropriate news and mail packages, this might be a
cost-free alternative.

I still don't know if he's doing this for free.

micor isn't on the internet, so you don't get telnet and ftp. It does have
mail however, and since it does have a domain name you could think of it
as a pseudo-internet site. The mail connection to the internet is done
via UUCP.

Micor is not on the internet.
It has news, and Michel may give you mail. These are not equal to internet access.
With the number of Waterloo co-op students in Ottawa every term, and the number
of them that want to access their accounts at Waterloo, I still haven't figured out
why Waterloo hasn't made any arrangements with one of the ONet sites in Ottawa.
Working for a `big' company doesn't necessary get you anything since the biggest
employer of Waterloo co-op students (that will remain nameless) doesn't even allow
external mail, let alone telnet access.
