Transferring addressbook data from Turnpike to Pegasus

Hi

We are changing over from using Turnpike to using Pegasus for POP email.
Now what I am wondering is if anyone has found a method of transferring
addressbook information from one format to the other.

I can export the addressbook from Turnpike in CSV format, but how on earth
can I then import this data into Pegasus? I cannot see any import function
of any description in it, nor does the addressbook appear to be in a simple
text format either.

So, if anyone has had some luck with doing this, your help would be greatly
appreciated!

Cheers
Gary

there are import and export functions in windows -- read the manual/helpfile
for the point&click instructions.

the format is something like:
Name: R.J.Letts
Key: LETTS,RJ
Email: r.j.letts@ais.salford.ac.uk
Notes: staff
--
Name: ......
... etc...

exporting an exisiting address book will show you the format, you can
skip blank lines and empty fields in the import file. To convert the
CSV format you might need to write a little script using your favourite
editor, or PERL.

With the DOS version I think you get a tool called PMIMPORT which does
the same as the point and click under windows.
I've a UNIX version of this, which I use to build 12MB of address books from
the university's user registartion database each week. Look on Chuck Foster's
web pages on pipex: http://www.pipex.net/people/chuck/ I think for a
link off to this.

Richard.

Thanks for that!
It wasn't obvious that I had to actually have an addressbook open before I
could import into it. I was simply looking for an import function in the
menus. Just have to sort out the format and it looks like it'll be fine.

Once again thanks for the help.
