I assume that the LoJack listens on a different frequency for a signal asking it to turn on, and when you report the vehicle as stolen, the local police (or is that police everywhere?) transmit the key to turn it on. Where does that key come from? I have here visions of some auto theft ring with a Lojack unit and a pile of DMV records, who get orders for particular models, find cars of that model in the records, and then easily use Lojack to locate the nearest one to steal. As soon as we get technology, the bad guys seem to appropriate it. --scott (always discouraged by technological solutions to social problems) -- "C'est un Nagra. C'est suisse, et tres, tres precis."
